John Thomson

John Thomson
Actor and Comedian

John, together with fellow university friend Steve Coogan, worked on the multi-award-winning satirical TV puppet show ‘Spitting Image’. They later collaborated on programmes including ‘Knowing Me, Knowing You… with Alan Partridge’; which John also contributed to writing. The two won the Perrier Comedy Award in 1992 for their act at the Edinburgh Fringe. John followed this with appearances in BBC sketch series ‘The Fast Show’, ‘Men Behaving Badly’ and ‘Cold Feet’; which enjoyed a popular revival in 2016. John has also featured as the voice of Mr. Windfall in the animated classic ‘Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit’.

Ruairidh MacNeill

Ruairidh MacNeill

‘Roo’ is a 3D artist and CG modeller from Scotland. He has worked on several high end projects from Halo 4: Spartan Ops to recently concluding work on Alita: Battle Angel, Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, Avengers: Infinity War, and Disney’s Christopher Robin.
He is currently based at Framestore in London.
In his spare time, Roo creates tutorials and live streams to teach, share and learn.

Ricardo Ferreira

Ricardo Ferreira
Digital Compositor, Teacher and Researcher.

Ricardo has worked on both film and commercial projects in the VFX industry for over nine years. During that time, he has worked at studios including Cinesite, Double Negative, ILM and MPC on some great titles including Thor: Ragnarök, X-Men Apocalypse, Ex Machina and Gravity.
With a background in architectural visualisation, Ricardo is now a teacher and researcher at Universidade Católica Portuguesa. He is also a Nuke certified trainer and has delivered courses around the globe representing The Foundry.

Ian Waters

Animator and Developer at Mainframe.

Ian is a software designer and lead developer at Mainframe, Manchester. He has a background and general interest in user experience and worked as an animator for 9 years. Ian is currently leading the design and development effort of a very exciting new 2.5D animation app, Cavalry. Away from the computer, Ian is an ex chef, a ‘lindy hopper’ and a fastidious coffee/gin/wine drinker.

Simon Viklund

Sound Designer, Music Producer and Video Game Composer.

Simon is a co-founder of the independent game developer collective, 10 Chambers. He is developer of (and community manager for) GTFO. Simon is best known for his work in the Payday games franchise, in which he was a composer and the voice of the character Bain, and Bionic Commando: Rearmed, in which he was a creative director and composer.

Lara is an award-winning producer and development executive with a strong and diverse track record in factual and entertainment content. She is currently Head of Development at Thoroughly Modern Media, an independent production company based in London, specializing in science, history and food programing. Lara has created and produced many top-rating, premium documentaries and series, including the recent ratings hit ‘Princess Margaret: The Rebel Royal’ for BBC Studios and PBS.

Alex Murphy

Actor, Director and Teacher.

Alex has performed in film and theatre while also training actors in the US, Asia, and Europe for a number of years. After graduating from the University of South Florida, Alex studied Stanislavski technique at HB Studio in New York, Laban technique with Larry Smith of London’s Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, and Meisner Technique at the Obie Award winning Ensemble Studio Theatre in Hells Kitchen, New York. In the last several years, Alex has directed productions in Belgium and the Philippines and is currently teaching at the Mulholland Academy in Amsterdam.

Javier is a Games Design Teacher at the University Center for Technology and Digital Art, Madrid. He has over 15 years of professional experience in the multimedia, web and audiovisual design sector. He has developed creative graphic projects for a diverse range of platforms, companies and audiences.

Fritz is now a senior lecturer at Breda University, following a career in production management. He has worked on titles such as Wim Wender’s Soul of a Man and Jackie Chan’s Around the World in 80 Days. Fritz will be giving a talk on ‘Impact Producing’.

Freyja is an art department coordinator with experience working on films including The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, and television productions such as Black Mirror, and Fortitude.

Martin is an audio designer at Krillbite Studio, and will be presenting ‘Aesthetics and Experimentation in Sound Design for Games’.

Ali Cedroni

Ali Cedroni

Ali is a freelance audio designer. Since graduating from Columbia College, Chicago, Ali has worked at various studios including Jellyvision, Uptown Recording and Transient Sound. Ali now works on a number of different projects between Chicago and Oslo and has recently worked as a visiting lecturer at Nord University, Steinkjer.
